Export to Word (DOCX)
Experimental Feature (macOS only): PDF to Word conversion is an experimental feature available only on macOS. Results will vary depending on document complexity. We recommend reviewing and adjusting the output as needed.
Convert PDFs to Word documents with two output modes:
Layout Mode
Produces a photocopy-like representation of your PDF:
- Attempts to preserve the visual appearance of the original
- Text is placed in positioned text boxes
- Best for documents where visual fidelity matters
- Note: Text boxes will likely need manual adjustment for editing
How to use: Go to File → Export To → Word (Layout)
Rich Text Mode
Extracts the text content in proper reading order:
- Provides the exact text from the PDF
- Text flows naturally and is easy to edit
- Best for extracting content to reuse elsewhere
- Note: Does not preserve the original page layout
How to use: Go to File → Export To → Word (Rich Text)
Export to PowerPoint (PPTX)
Each PDF page becomes an editable PowerPoint slide. Text boxes and tables are converted to editable elements.
- Preserves images and basic formatting
- Text becomes editable text boxes
- Tables are converted to PowerPoint tables
- Complex layouts may need minor adjustments
How to use: Go to File → Export To → PowerPoint
Export to Excel (XLSX)
Extract tables from PDFs directly into spreadsheet format:
- Automatically detects tables in the PDF
- Preserves cell structure and data
- Works best with clearly formatted tables

Save PDF pages as image files:
Supported Formats
- PNG: Lossless quality, supports transparency
- JPEG: Smaller file size, good for photos
- TIFF: Professional quality, supports multi-page
Export Options
- Individual Files: Each page as a separate image
- Multi-page TIFF: All pages in one TIFF file
- PDF of Images: Rasterized PDF (flattens all content)
Resolution (DPI)
- 72 DPI: Screen quality, smallest files
- 150 DPI: Good for web and email
- 300 DPI: Print quality
- Custom: Up to 600 DPI for high-quality prints

Export to Plain Text
Extract all text content from the PDF without formatting. Useful for copying content or processing text.

Export Annotation Summary

OCR (Text Recognition)
Make scanned documents searchable and editable by recognizing text in images.
- Supports multiple languages
- Adds invisible text layer over images
- Enables text selection and search
- Required before exporting scanned documents

Tips for Best Results
- Run OCR on scanned documents before exporting to Word
- Use Rich Text mode for documents with simple layouts
- Use Layout mode for forms and precisely formatted documents
- For tables, ensure they have clear borders for best detection
- Export at 300 DPI for print-quality images
