Organize Pages

Manage your PDF pages - merge documents, split files, rotate, reorder, and more. Most organization features are available in the free version.

Page Manager View

For extensive page organization, switch to the Page Manager view by clicking Organize in the toolbar or using the View menu.

In Page Manager view, you can:

  • See all pages as thumbnails
  • Drag pages to reorder them
  • Select multiple pages for batch operations
  • Right-click for page options

Merge PDFs

Combine multiple PDF files into a single document:

  1. Go to File β†’ Merge Files (β‡§βŒ˜M)
  2. Select the PDFs you want to combine
  3. Arrange them in the desired order
  4. Click Merge to create the combined document

Tip: You can also drag PDF files directly onto an open document to insert them.

Split PDF

Divide a document into separate files:

  1. Go to Edit β†’ Extract Pages
  2. Select the page range to extract
  3. Choose whether to delete pages from original
  4. Save the extracted pages as a new file

For more control, use Page Manager to select specific pages, then right-click and choose Extract.

Rotate Pages

Fix page orientation:

Rotate Current Page

  • Rotate Left: ⌘L
  • Rotate Right: ⌘R
  • Or use Edit β†’ Rotate Current Page

Rotate Multiple Pages

  1. Switch to Page Manager view
  2. Select pages (Shift-click for range, ⌘-click for individual)
  3. Right-click and choose rotation direction

Delete Pages

Remove unwanted pages:

  • Go to the page and press ⌘Delete
  • Or use Edit β†’ Delete Page
  • In Page Manager, select pages and press Delete

Warning: Deleting pages cannot be undone after saving.

Reorder Pages

Change page order:

  1. Switch to Page Manager view
  2. Drag pages to new positions
  3. Or use Edit β†’ Move Page to specify a target position

Insert Pages

Insert Blank Page

  • Use Edit β†’ Insert Blank Page (β‡§βŒ˜I)
  • Choose page size and position

Insert from Another PDF

  • In Page Manager, drag from Finder
  • Or use File β†’ Merge Files and select position

Duplicate Pages

Create copies of pages within the document:

  1. Select the page(s) in Page Manager
  2. Use Edit β†’ Duplicate Page
  3. Or right-click and choose Duplicate

Crop Pages

Adjust the visible area of pages:

  • Crop Single Page: Annotate β†’ Crop (β‡§βŒ˜K)
  • Crop All Pages: Annotate β†’ Crop All Pages
  • Drag the crop handles to set boundaries
  • Click Apply to finalize

Cropping hides content outside the crop area but doesn't permanently delete it.

Page Labels

Customize page numbering:

  1. Go to Edit β†’ Page Labels β†’ Edit Page Labels
  2. Set starting number, prefix, or style
  3. Common for roman numerals in front matter

Add Page Numbers

Insert visible page numbers on pages:

  1. Go to Edit PDF β†’ Header and Footer β†’ Add Page Numbers
  2. Choose position (top/bottom, left/center/right)
  3. Set font and size
  4. Select page range

Page Resize

Change page dimensions:

  1. Go to Edit β†’ Page Resize
  2. Choose preset size or enter custom dimensions
  3. Select how content should be positioned

Tips

  • Use ⌘A in Page Manager to select all pages
  • Shift-click to select a range of pages
  • ⌘-click to select/deselect individual pages
  • Save frequently when making major page changes
  • Use Save As to keep the original document unchanged
